|Character of Regents Walk|
|Full Name||Indira Westerburg|
|Birthday||August 4th, 1981|
Indira Westerburg is a fictional character in the Regents Walk comic series. She is of Indian descent but knows nothing of her heritage. Having grown up in a house full of adopted children, she is rather neglected. She is one of the twelve Mains.
A student at Widow's Perch Elementary, Indira lives in an overstuffed house with seven siblings, five of which are adopted, like her. One of the younger children, she has a tough life as the runt of the pack. School becomes a source of escape from her troubled home life. She speaks little, and her big jacket is her security blanket while also hiding her tiny body.
Big Blue (Chapter One)
After shrinking into her coat when Mrs. Hambridge talks about her, she is introduced by her "bodyguard" Tanya to Ms. Goodwin. Unable to shake her "friend" who thinks her last name is Westerburger, she doesn't seem able to do anything on her own. At lunch, she and her brother Demyan talk about their mother always preparing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and because she is constantly hungry, begs Adrian for some of the cookie he stole from home. At recess, she can be (partially) seen jump-roping, and then in the background, watching Margaret run off after being teased.
Appearances In Stories
On the first day in School, Tom throws a paper ball at her and Tanya first comes to her aid. On the second day, with the substitute teacher, she seems to have gotten stuck in a big group of kids, which she likely doesn't appreciate.
Her very first interaction with Tanya is unseen, but it happened even before the first class. Maybe since first arriving to the school grounds on the very first morning, Tanya has stuck by her, protecting her, or more precisely, keeping her to herself. Indira doesn't understand why this is happening.
- She is one of the youngest of the Mains/Shadows, and also one of the smallest.
- She is one of three Mains/Shadows not born in the area, the other two being Tom and Dora.
