Michael Seoung is a fictional character in the Regents Walk comic series. He is of Korean descent. The middle child of a family of three boys, he feels overshadowed. The fact that he is also often mistaken for a girl doesn't help his self-confidence. He is one of the twelve Shadows, so his tale will be part of the Stories written series.
A student at Widow's Perch Elementary, Mike is one of the smallest children and he possesses a somewhat feminine appearance. In fact, most of the kids think he's a girl in School, and some who don't know him so well still believe this all the way into November, several months after first grade began. He is very energetic and playful but has trouble making lasting friends because of his short temper.
Big Blue (Chapter One)
After Mrs. Hambridge takes the class to the cafeteria to give their introductions to Ms. Goodwin, who is directing the Thanksgiving play, she also seems to be surprised when he gives her a boy's name. He later walks by Yolanda at lunch, who tells him the juicy intel that Tom is repeating first grade. Mike later runs up to and kisses Candace for no apparent reason at recess, the result of which makes the nearby group erupt into laughter and jeers.

In School, during a sharing and politeness lesson in Mrs. Hambridge's class, he is in a group with Gladys, Ethan, Arlo, and Channing. Gladys sees that he is playing with a toy truck and wonders out loud if girls are allowed to play with trucks. He gets pretty upset with the remark and loudly declares that he's a boy, which also surprises Channing.
